About Us

Andrew J. Cole has been in the funeral profession since 1985, earning his degree from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1987 and his Maryland State Funeral Director’s license in 1988. He worked at Collins Funeral Home from 1985 until 2011 and enjoyed his years of serving families there, developing relationships with clergy, church personnel, and many others over the years.  Founding his own funeral service in December of 2011 was a continuation of his dedication to families, his passion for directing funerals, and his personal faith outreach.

Andrew, or Andy or A.J. as he has been known, was born and raised in Rockville, Maryland.  He attended Montgomery County Schools and studied pre-pharmacy at Montgomery College.  His life took a new direction when a college career counselor suggested that with his aptitude for science and enthusiastic personality he would be well suited for funeral directing.  When he discussed the idea with his mother, she told him, “Funeral Directors are the nicest men in the world.” And so his life’s work began.

A.J.'s reputation for caring, quality and professionalism is well known among clergy, church administrators and funeral professionals.  These well-developed relationships allow A.J. to navigate the many idiosyncrasies of coordinating detail oriented funerals.

A.J. married his wife of 19 years, Megan McHugh Cole, in 1993.  Together they have four children; Molly, Bridget, Evan and Kendra.  Their love of family and awareness of how precious life is has made the work of caring for others at this difficult time a life’s work of love and dedication for their entire family.
