Sgt. Kranking...yup, I'm still calling you Sarge! You were an inspiration me. I am sorry that I never let you know . You were always such a gentle soul but a fearless leader. You continue to inspire me everyday as a supervisor in the district where you and I first met. All of the fond memories, laughter, and words of wisdom will stay with me forever! You will always be in thoughts! Much love to your family! May you rest in eternal peace and comfort now.

Kranking family,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Your husband/father was a great man. I was introduced to Andy by my parents because of my drive to become a police officer. Andy always checked up on me and my progress, and once I became an officer he always had time to swap a story or two with me. I also got to see Andy at work with MCPD while I volunteered with Burtonsville FD. He always was a presence while on the scene of an incident and lead his officers with a quiet resilience. He was respectful, compassionate, and always ready to make someone laugh. Andy lives on in everyone he met and everyone's life he has impacted.
Sincerely
Sgt. Joe Lilly

Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Andy. He was a great and wonderful person. He was also kind enough to provide insight as to what I could look forward by marrying into the Fremeau family.
Rest In Peace Andy.

To Andy's Family: We are indebted to Andy for making his community a safer place thru his decades of service in Montgomery County. Andy was an inspiration to me and our mutual colleagues through the courageous manner in which he dealt with his disease. I am proud to call Andy my friend! Lou Font
