Timothy J. Carley, 71, of Rockville, Maryland passed away April 8, 2024. He bravely fought multiple cancers for many years, far surpassing his doctors' initial prognoses. Tim's Catholic faith gave him strength. Tim was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his cherished wife of 43 years, Joanne, and their son, Patrick; his siblings, Mary Jean Lipovsky (Bill) of Oakton, VA, and John Carley (Margaret) of Brookfield, WI; his brother-in-law, John McEvitt (Judy) of Arvada, CO; his many beloved nieces and nephews, and his loyal labrador retriever, Kelly.
Tim grew up in Kensington, MD and graduated from Einstein High School in 1970. He was employed for 40 years in management and contractor sales beginning with Hardware City and then with T.W. Perry where he had many close relationships with fellow employees and customers.
Tim really looked forward to his annual beach vacation to Ocean City, MD. Over the years he enjoyed his trips to Colorado to visit family and was very excited to tour Ireland a few years ago. Tim was very proud of his Irish heritage and was sure to have a pint of Guinness on St. Patrick's Day. He loved animals and nature, enjoyed fishing with his son and walks on the beach with his wife. The Commanders and Nationals lost their biggest fan in a trade with God. Tim touched the hearts of many with his friendly attitude and dry sense of humor and he will be forever missed by all that knew him.
Visitation will begin at 9:45am on Thursday, April 25, at St. Mary's Church - 520 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20852; where the Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Tim's name to Central Union Mission (details below).
