William V. Jordan, on July 11, 2021, at the age of 88. A long time resident of Rockville, Md., William was the beloved husband of J. Joan Jordan for 67 years; loving father of Wayne V. Jordan of Fairfax Station, Va., and Jill J. Buckley of Dana Point, California; grandfather of Shannon Jordan, Kristen Jordan and Jannise Buckley; and great grandfather to Victor Taczak and Jordan Babbush.
Known to friends as Bill, he grew up in the Tenley Circle area of Washington, DC, and attended Woodrow Wilson High School and University of Maryland. After a stint in the US Army he owned and operated a multi unit dry cleaning business in Washington, D.C. for many years. In retirement he had a second career in the Montgomery County Public Schools as a computer instructor. Bill also was on the Board of the Bethesda Chevy Chase Crime Solvers, an officer of Meals on Wheels, an officer of the Bethesda Chevy Chase Exchange Club, and a member of the Lutheran Church. He was an avid sportsman who excelled at basketball and later added golf, volleyball, racquetball, and sailing. Bill enjoyed gardening in his yard, doing home improvement projects, traveling, and was an avid reader.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations may be made to either Montgomery County Hospice, or Meals on Wheels of Rockville. Services will be private.
