Health issues struck Tim at an early age and would continue to be part of his life. Tim received a successful kidney transplant in 1977 but never let his health define who he was or what he wanted to accomplish.

At the same time, he held down the position of Physics Laboratory Director at Canisius College, Buffalo, New York. In 1986, Tim moved to Maryland where he had a career as a Physicist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for over 30 years.
He met the love of his life, Mary Katherine, through mutual friends and they were married at her alma mater, Loyola University Maryland, in Baltimore in 1996. They traveled to Australia, Colorado, and Florida. A large part of their lives included spending time and vacationing with the extended Ryan family. They enjoyed annual family vacations to Williamsburg, Virginia and Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.
Tim’s lived a life of grace and good humor. His determination and perseverance in the face of daunting challenges were demonstrated by lifelong interests in science and nature that spanned horticulture, astronomy, history, hiking, sailing, camping, sport shooting, fishing, biking, reading, tropical fish and vintage radios. Throughout his life, Tim was a happy, caring, and loving parent to many pets.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday February 14th at St. Peter’s Parish in Olney, Maryland, with a Viewing from 11am – 12noon, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland.
