In Loving Memory of Timothy Robert Holt ~ Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and Friend
Timothy Robert Holt, of Olney, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on July 2. Born in Pasadena, California, Tim spent much of his childhood in Yakima, Washington, and enjoyed summers in Park City, Utah—formative years that nurtured his adventurous spirit and a lifelong love of the outdoors, especially fishing. He also lived for a time in both Guam and England, experiences that helped shape his open heart and global perspective.
In his twenties, Tim moved to Alexandria, Virginia where he met the love of his life, Bridget, while working at the Painters Union. The two built a beautiful life together, settling in Olney and raising their three beloved children—Lizzie, Bryce, and Daniel. The family also shared countless cherished memories at their second home, their “happy place,” in Bethany Beach, Delaware.
Tim loved being a father above all else. He was deeply involved in his children’s lives—coaching their sports teams, cheering from the sidelines, attending school events, and teaching them practical skills with patience and pride. He had a natural gift for fixing things and a keen eye for home design, always ready with a tool in hand and a vision in mind.
Whether snow-blowing neighbors’ driveways in winter or waking up at dawn to stake out the perfect beach spot for family and friends, Tim was the first to lend a hand. His generosity was matched by his charisma, quick wit, and a laugh that filled any room. He was a loyal friend, a great storyteller, and someone who truly never met a stranger.
A devoted fan of the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, Tim proudly sported his silver and black and rarely missed a game. He passed his love of the Raiders down to two out of his three kids—and enjoyed a long-running, good-natured rivalry with his youngest son, a die-hard Ravens fan. He also had a deep appreciation for classic cars, a passion sparked by his father and nurtured over the years through shared memories and a love for craftsmanship. His enthusiasm for the Raiders, vintage cars, beach days, and sharing a good laugh was only surpassed by his deep love for family.
Preceded in death by his father, James Holt, Tim is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Bridget; their three children, Lizzie, Bryce, and Daniel; his mother, Debra Durand (John); his brother, Mike McMahon (Heather); his sister, McKenzie Holt; and his step-sister, Kristina Weaver (Clint). He is also survived by his father-in-law, Jack Schuma (Lee Viccellio); his brother-in-law, John Schuma (Francee); his sister-in-law, Kristy Inman (Derek); and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tim leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty—one that will live on in the many lives he touched.
He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
