Tamir Kell Fahmy, 33, of Rockville, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts. Tamir was an intelligent, compassionate young man and a natural leader among his peers. He was deeply passionate about his friends, family, sports, and art, and brought energy and warmth to everyone he encountered.
Tamir grew up in the Manor Country Club community, where he was a proud legacy member. He became an integral part of the Manor Swim and Dive Team beginning at the age of five and later served as a swim team coach. Tamir had a true gift for teaching and devoted himself to giving swim lessons, helping hundreds of children learn to swim with confidence and safety. In addition to swimming for Manor, Tamir competed at an elite level as a member of the Rockville Montgomery Swim Club (RMSC), where he trained as part of the National Training Group (NTG).
Tamir attended Brooke Grove Elementary School in Olney, Maryland, through third grade. After the family moved to Manor Park, he continued his education at The Bullis School from third through eighth grade. At Bullis, Tamir excelled academically while participating in swim, football, basketball, and lacrosse. For high school, he attended Georgetown Preparatory School, where he competed on the Varsity Swim, Football, and Rugby teams and formed many of his closest lifelong friendships.
Tamir went on to attend the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
After graduation, Tamir spent nearly ten years working in cybersecurity and financial services sales. Ultimately, he chose to pursue his lifelong passion for the law and helping others. He had recently enrolled at the New England School of Law in Boston, where he earned a full scholarship — a testament to his dedication and potential.
Tamir cherished his family, friends, and the Manor and Georgetown Prep communities. He was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to the University of Maryland Terrapins and the Washington Redskins.
Tamir is survived by his loving parents, Brigid and Hatem (Tim) Fahmy; his younger brother, Zackary (Zack) Fahmy; his grandparents, Mostafa and Nagwa Fahmy; his uncle, Ramez Fahmy; his aunts, Sherifa Fahmy and Randa Fahmy; his beloved cousins, Malec, Amina, Zaine, and Noah; as well as many other relatives and countless close friends whose lives he touched deeply.
