It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of beloved Sara (Zahra) Nejand. She passed away at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland with her loving and devoted family at her side. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Sam (Said) Nejand, her two sons Dariush (David) Nejand and Kourosh (Patrick) Nejand, her granddaughters Diana Nejand and Tina Nejand, and her grandson Eli Nejand. She was born in Birjand, Iran, and lived a full life. She was an incredibly resilient and kind woman who selflessly overcame many obstacles for the benefit of her children and grandchildren.

Her burial service will take place at Parklawn Cemetery in Rockville, Maryland on April 21, 2023  at 11:20 AM and will be followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM. We hope to share more about her life then.
