Roni Calingo Obituary

Roni Mauro Calingo, 86, of Potomac, MD passed away on August 2, 2022, after a long battle with esophageal cancer. Beloved husband of Maria Calingo; father of Sandra (Joseph) Macker, Pamela Lynch, Diana Calingo, and Alex Calingo; brother of Mario, Mauro Jr., and the late Orlando. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Steven Macker, Andrew Macker, Cristina Macker, Kelli Lynch, and Lauren Lynch.

Roni was born in Manila, Philippines. As a son of a diplomat, his family moved to Washington, D.C. in 1955. He studied Economics at The George Washington University where he graduated in 1959. Roni made a career in the travel industry, working for Pan American and Delta Airlines for the next 40 years and was able to visit many countries. In addition, he appreciated good food and loved to cook, which he shared with his family and friends. Roni also had a passion for reading and enjoyed watching tennis.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Rockville, MD.
