Roger J. Cavanaugh, 81, passed away peacefully after a long illness on 3/15/2024 surrounded by family at Fairland Center in Silver Spring, MD.
Survived by wife Diane, three children – Margaret Ferris, Thomas Cavanaugh (Yardley), Amy Giblin (Donald), ten grandchildren and three step grandchildren. He also had two brothers, Kenneth (Alberta) and Stephen (Linda). He was a light in each of us in his own way.
Roger was formerly married to the late Susan Hayes Cavanaugh.
He was conferred Bachelor of Business Administration (UMass) and MS in Taxation (American U); and held CPA license until retirement due to illness with employer, the former OTO Melara N.A. in 2010.
Roger served our country proudly as a Captain, US Army. While in Vietnam earned several medals among them the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation.
