Robert Turner O'Neil

Robert T. O'Neil, on Friday, May 15, 2020, of Silver Spring, Maryland.  Beloved husband of the late Johanna O’Neil (2017); Father of Stephanie (Stephen) Murphy, Robert T. O’Neil, Jr., and David (Monica) O’Neil; Grandfather of Amanda Sutor, Austin Sutor, Samantha O’Neil, and Sophia O’Neil. 

Robert served his country during the Korean War as a Sergeant First Class with the US Army. He had a wonderful and fulfilling career of 34 years with NASA working on the historic Apollo Program leading to first space flight and the first Man on the Moon, to the Space Shuttle Program, and finally the Mission to Mars.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Rockville, Maryland.  Interment on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland.  Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, these are limited to immediate family only.
