On Saturday, August 5th, Robert (Bob) Kenney of Rockville, MD passed away at the age of 94. Survived by his wife of 70 years, Patricia Kenney, as well as his children Helen Weisel, Kathy Judson, and Ann Marie Railing. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Kenney, brother Russel Kenney, and sister Helen Kenney; as well as his parents Martin and Clara Kenney.
Bob was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 28, 1929 and attended Marquette University before earning his CPA. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion (Post 171 of Damascus, MD). His work life included heading the department of payroll at the World Bank in Washington, DC for many years before thoroughly enjoying many more years of a happy retirement. Bob was an amazingly devoted husband, father, and friend to many people and a proud Catholic. Often referred to as 'the oldest living alter server', he was a founding parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Rockville, MD and was active in his church until he and Pat moved to Sykesville, MD in later years.
Funeral Mass at 11am on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Patrick's Church, 4101 Norbeck Rd, Rockville, MD 20853. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20906. Reception will follow Interment at Leisure World Clubhouse 1, 3310 N Leisure World Blvd, Silver Spring, 20906.
