Bob Broughton, loving husband, father and brother, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 29, 2024, at the age of 81, from complications related to Dementia.
Bob was born in Washington, DC, to Bernard R. Broughton and Dorothy Fitzpatrick Broughton on May 7, 1942. He graduated from John Carroll High School in 1960 and the University of Maryland in 1965. Bob and his father opened Broughton Painting & Decorating, Co., Inc. shortly afterward. While he was proud of being a small business owner, now in its third generation, what he cherished most was his family.
Bob leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Lenore Rubini Broughton, and four children, Kimberly Miller (Pat), Robert D. Broughton, Jr. (Laura), Christina Miller (Tom), and Anthony Broughton (Kathy), and 12 grandchildren (Kevin, Katherine, Alexandra, TJ, Matthew, Robert III, Collin, Nora, Andrew, Maggie, Zachary, and Connor). He is also survived by his loving younger sisters, Barbara Wilson and Denise Broughton, and his niece, Tracy DiChiacchio.
Visitation will begin at 10am on Monday, April 8, 2024 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olney, MD, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment will be held at a later date.
