Raymond Brito (Ray, Mr. Ray, Brother Ray, and Dr. Ray), age 72, of Derwood, Maryland, departed from our earthly lives on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Raymond’s family and friends were blessed to be with him throughout his entire eight-week hospitalization in ICU and his final moments before being called into God’s Eternal Kingdom. Raymond was known to his family and friends by many nicknames (above), and perhaps one of the nicknames resonates in your heart. Raymond will always be our loving, caring, most generous, humble, humorous, thoughtful, playful, mannerly, polite and most gracious Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend.
Raymond enlisted in the Armed Forces of the United States during the Vietnam War in 1971. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal for Sharp Shooter M16. His enlistment included Aviation Mechanical Training and Aviation Communications Equipment Repair where he later pursued a private pilot instructor’s rating for multi-engine airplanes. Following his service in the Armed Forces, Raymond resided in California and eventually returned to Montgomery County, Maryland. Raymond, a multipotentialite, was employed in many arenas, and ventured to become self-employed and established RMB Professional Services, a contracting business, and “a jack of all trades.”
Ray had a passion and affection for nature, animals, Corvettes (1970), Corvairs and Norton motorcycles. He loved the mountains, driving along Skyline Drive, the beach; growing, caring, and nurturing plants (ponytail palms, jade plants and many others). He was “a jack of all trades” and used his skills to repair, replace, and rebuild all things mechanical.
Raymond loved his family, nieces and nephews (the apples of his eye), his friends, and the dogs that he had a great affection for, Sport, Chumpie, Thor, Daisy, Otis, Zuki and Tonks. Raymond was so very kind and generous. He always thought of others and had a wonderful sense of humor. Raymond would love to pop-in with a friendly surprise appearance to family and friends. He captured our attention with his inspiring and funny stories. All of his qualities and attributes amplified our love for him. For, Raymond was truly a loveable person! Raymond resided with his dear and close friends, Chris and Joe, and established lifelong friendships with Darlene and Jose, Doug, and Mary (in Vermont).
Raymond is survived by: Barbara [Sister]; Sheila (Bryan) [Sister]; Sherri (Tim) [Sister]; Victor (Corina) [Brother]: Daniel [Brother]; Joe (Cindy) [Brother]; Brianna (Richard), Kendall, [Nieces]; Tyler, Trent, Nicholas, Dean, Erik, Max [Nephews]; Harry (Sue), Marty (Bobbi), Michelle, Sheree (Travis) [Cousins]; and Sharon [Beloved Girlfriend]. Raymond is also survived by many other loving family members, friends, and Best Friend, Johnny P. and family.
Raymond was preceded in death by: Joseph [Father]; Irene [Mother]; Gloria Ann [Sister]; “Buni” [Grandmother]; Harry (Rose) [Uncle]; Lucy (Martin) [Aunt]; Carol (“Cookie”), Pamela Jean, and Donna Jean [Cousins].
WE LOVE YOU BIG DEAR RAYMOND!
