Pauline Louise Kuta passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in Bethesda, Maryland.
Born to Drs. Louis and Rose Mary Wajay of Chicago, Illinois, Pauline attended Resurrection High School before earning her bachelor's degree from Loyola University. She dedicated her career to education and healthcare, working as a substitute teacher in the Chicago Public School System and later as an administrative assistant in the microbiology department at Chicago Medical School.
In 2019, Pauline relocated to Bethesda to be closer to family on the East Coast. Though she deeply missed Chicago and her neighbors, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Alexander; her sister, Rosemary Cwik; and her beloved Dalmatian, Happy. She is survived by her sons, Alex (Bonnie) and Louis (Mary); grandchildren Louis, Joseph, and Theresa Rose; brother-in-law Walter Cwik; nieces and nephews; and cherished family pets Daisy, Snickers, and Pickle.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 21, 2025, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church in Bethesda, Maryland, 9701 Old Georgetown Rd.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Pauline's name to Special Love for Children with Cancer, 158 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, VA 22602 or JSSA Hospice Care for Montgomery County, 200 Wood Hill Rd., Rockville, MD 20850.
Her love and laughter will be deeply missed, and her memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends.
