Paul Nicholas Balland

Paul Nicholas Balland, age 28, of Potomac, Maryland died tragically on July 13, 2021. Paul was a lifelong resident of Potomac, Maryland. A graduate of Walt Whitman High School, where he was a varsity baseball player. He graduated from the University of Maryland in Political Science where he also played club baseball. He also graduated from University of Baltimore Law School and anticipated law practice with his father. He was loved by all and had many friends.  

Paul was a member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral and was a devout Orthodox Christian. He was very active in church activities as an altar boy, was president of the youth group (GOYA) and a fierce competitor in Church league basketball for many years. 
 

Paul is survived by his father, Nicholas, mother, Kathryn, sister, Nerissa and brother, Andrew. His funeral will be held at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2815 36th St NW, Washington, DC 20007, on Monday, July 19, 2021, with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. and funeral at 12:00 noon. Interment Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
