Pamela Sue Ravangard, wife of devoted husband, Dr. Firooz Ravangard, passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 67, in Bethesda, Maryland. Born on December 26, 1956 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to the late and beloved Bernard and Frieda Frakowski, Pam was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone with whom she came in contact. Her memory and love will never be forgotten.
Pam lived a life filled with joy, resilience, and unwavering dedication and love for her family and friends. She was an amazing cook, international traveler, skier, avid reader and embracer of all cultures. Leading through example, Pam taught us many things: how to have courage and grace when faced with life’s toughest challenges; how to show up and support those in need; how to be selfless; how to be a great mother and care for a family; how to cook amazing meals with no written recipes; how to find the best tasting desserts and chocolate at any store or on any menu; how to have a great sense of humor and spirit; how to let loose on a dance floor and move like no one is watching; but most importantly, how to love others unconditionally.
We will carry Pam in our hearts forever. Because of Pam, we remember that life isn’t just about the big moments or events; the small and everyday ones count equally. What matters is that you are present and embrace them.
Pam is survived by her husband, Dr. Firooz Ravangard; three children and their spouses, Dr. Samadh Ravangard (wife Perri Ravangard), Darius I. Ravangard (wife Ashley Cornelius), and Dr. Ariyan Ravangard-Karam (husband Brendan Karam); and two adoring grandchildren, Cyrus and Rumi Ravangard (Sam and Perri Ravangard). She is predeceased by her loving parents, Bernard and Frieda Frakowski, among other notable relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life was held on August 19, 2024 at Parklawn Memorial Park and Menorah Gardens (Parklawn Cemetery) in Rockville, Maryland, where she is buried.
