Mirtha Videla Obituary

Mirtha Videla

Mirtha Videla, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 1, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born on November 9, 1946, in Mendoza, Argentina, Mirtha was a woman of remarkable strength, determination, and spirit. As a young woman, she left Argentina to pursue her dreams in New York City, carrying with her a strong work ethic, a sense of adventure, and the courage to build a life filled with opportunity and purpose.

Mirtha was a talented hairstylist whose creativity, dedication, and love of connecting with people defined much of her life. Independent and outspoken, she was never afraid to speak her mind and lived with confidence and authenticity.

While she took great pride in her career, nothing meant more to Mirtha than her family. She was the devoted wife of Luis Roberto Videla, her soulmate and partner in life for more than 50 years. Together, they built a loving family and shared a lifetime of memories. She was also the loving mother of her four children: Natalie, Christian, Luis, and Banessa. Her children were the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to creating lasting memories with them. Whether it was movie nights, trips to toy stores, family outings throughout New York, or simply time spent together, she made everyday moments feel special.

Mirtha was also a proud grandmother to Alex, Matthew, Joey, Nicholas, Vinny, Sebastian, Carmine, Jonathan, and Logan. She cherished each of her nine grandsons and found immense joy in watching her family grow through the generations.

A devoted Catholic, Mirtha carried her faith with her throughout her life. She loved to travel, explore new places, listen to music, and surround herself with art and creativity. Her warmth, determination, and love left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the countless memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in her husband, children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives she touched.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Mirtha's life will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2900 Olney Sandy Spring Road, Olney, Maryland 20832, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to attend the burial service at 12:15 p.m. at Norbeck Memorial Park, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, Maryland 20832.
