Obituary

Milton Rouss Boyd II – age 61, unexpectedly passed away July 27, 2022 in Gaithersburg, MD.  Milton was born on December 23, 1960, to Doris Gregory Kelchner and Milton Rouss Boyd (Deceased) and was raised in Inwood, WV and Gaithersburg, MD.  Since 1991, he lived in Gathersburg, MD with his wife of 23 years, Nancy.

Milton is survived by Nancy; his daughters: Carrington Rae and Kylie Rebecca; his mother, Doris Gregory Kelchner and step-father Roland Kelchner; his sisters: Belinda Axline (Ernest), Michele Payne (Herbert); brother in law, John Turner (Lois) and sister in law, Catherine Jaegers (John); nieces and nephews: Erika Thacker (Vincent); Christopher Payne (Andi), Claire Yates (Ryan), Spencer Turner (Sarah), Graydon Turner (Katie), Westley Turner (Heather), Jamie Jaegers (Scott Stewart), and J. Tyler Jaegers.

Milton attended Gaithersburg High School (Gaithersburg, MD), Class of ’78. He began his welding career with Montgomery County Government, Department of Transportation from 1979 until his retirement in 2016.  During most of that time he also worked for Montgomery Scrap, Rockville, MD and started a small engine repair side business from home.  Milton’s interests were varied, he loved deep sea fishing, beekeeping, photography, cooking, especially barbequing, and was masterful at repairing most anything and loved teaching anyone who was interested.
He was totally devoted to his family, Nancy, Carrington and Kylie (and Brooks Zarchin, the son he never had). Milton was their biggest fan, he supported all of their interests, and had constant, unwavering love for them. When family and friends came to visit, Milton always enjoyed sharing outrageous stories and colorful commentary detailing his days at the County and scrap yard.  In most recent years, he found joy in sending surprise packages of household items and snacks to relatives. Milton always loved to hang out in his garage and share a beer with anyone who would sit and listen to his stories.
