Millicent Walsh Caffrey Obituary

Millicent Walsh Caffrey, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend entered eternal life at her home on November 10, 2025. She was born and raised in New York City, the eldest of seven children. 


Millie was predeceased by her husband, Noel Caffrey and her sons Matthew, Thomas, Michael, Joseph, John and Robert Caffrey and daughter Anne Caffrey, her parents, Thomas and Muriel Walsh, and siblings Francis, Thomas, Edmond, and Robert Walsh. 


Affectionately known as “Papu” by her family, she is survived by her children, Jane Applegate (William), Mary Price, Patrick (Frances), Francis (Laura), Ruth, and Daniel Caffrey, 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, her siblings Muriel Thompson (Ray) and Joseph Walsh as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 


Millie was retired from CAC Insurance, where she worked as a customer service representative. She was a long-time parishioner at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olney, Maryland. 


Millie was a strong woman of faith in God, and was loved by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed by everyone in her life. 


On Saturday, November 22, 2025, there will be Visitation at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olney, MD at 10 am, with Mass of Christian Burial offered at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Mount Airy, MD. 


Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
