Michael Calarusse Obituary

Michael Raymond Calarusse, born on March 11, 1943, in Oregon, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Raymond and Helen Calarusse. Michael spent part of his childhood in Pennsylvania before making Florida his lifelong home, where he built a life filled with love and cherished memories.

Michael served his country as a member of the United States Army, an experience that instilled in him a sense of duty and honor that he carried throughout his life.

Following his service, Michael began his career as a respiratory therapist, a role that showcased his dedication to helping others. Later, he transitioned to a career in sales, driven by his desire to better provide for his family.

A man of deep faith, Michael was a devoted Catholic and a proud 3rd Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, serving his community and his church.

Michael was also a passionate martial artist, achieving the rank of 3rd Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He loved helping teach the art he cherished, whether in class, driving students from school to the dojo, or imparting life lessons that extended beyond the mat. His guidance and mentorship left a lasting impact on those he taught and inspired.

Michael was a lifelong football enthusiast and an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, always cheering for his team with passion. He cherished Sunday meals with his family, a time filled with laughter, stories, and love. Sharing holidays with his loved ones brought him immense joy, as he valued family traditions and creating lasting memories together. Michael also had a soft spot for his pets and an appreciation for opera, often finding peace and inspiration in its beauty and power.

Known for his sharp sense of humor, Michael had a remarkable wit and a love for sarcasm that could bring smiles to anyone in the room. His clever remarks and playful banter created countless moments of laughter and joy for his family and friends.

He found great joy in nature, often taking his grandchildren on walks and sharing the beauty of the outdoors with them. Michael is survived by his five beloved grandchildren—Austin, Tommy, Sofie, Edward Michael, and Giovanna—who brought extreme happiness to his life and his most treasured title- Papa. He loved the time spent with them, exploring outside or engaging in their favorite activities, and his bond with them was a source of great pride and fulfillment.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela Calarusse; his two beloved daughters, Crystal Calarusse and Samantha Calarusse Daly; his adored grandchildren, Austin, Tommy, Sofie, Edward Michael, and Giovanna; and his sister, Anita Brennan.

Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, and the wisdom and encouragement he shared with everyone he met.
