Melinda Mary Ely Cornish

Melinda Mary Ely Cornish of Silver Spring, MD passed away peacefully in her home on March 11, 2024.  She was 71.  She will forever be known for her good manners and knowledge of the Catholic Faith.

Melinda was born in Paterson, NJ to Joseph Ely and Pat Ely on May 19, 1952 and lived in Ridgewood, NJ most of her life.  She was in residence in Silver Spring, MD for 37 years.  She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Marymount College in Virginia.  She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Rockville, MD and a volunteer assistant third-grade teacher at St. Patrick's School for many years. 

Melinda is predeceased by her brother Joseph Ely and her sister Ellen Daniels.  She is survived by her husband, Douglas Cornish; and by her siblings Tom Ely, Trish Dunn and Liz Divine. 

Visitation will begin at 10:30am on Friday, March 22 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church - 4101 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD 20853; where the Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30am.
