Matt Paris passed away unexpectedly on Sunday September 13, 2020. He leaves behind the lights of his life, his three amazing children: Noah Joseph, Annabelle Catherine Marie, and Ethan Nicholas of Columbia, MD. Matt is also survived by his parents, Ian and Linda Paris of Columbia, MD, and his five siblings: Heidi (and Jamie) McNeeley of Berlin, MD, Chris (and Angie) Paris of Sandy Spring, MD, Sarah Paris of Colorado Springs, CO, Tim Paris of Columbia, MD, and Father Michael-Joseph, OCD, of Holy Hill, WI. He also leaves behind a nephew, Sean Kelley, and niece, Rachel Paris, both of whom he loved deeply.
A ‘98 graduate of Wilde Lake High School, Matt went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in English and Master's Degree in Literature. He loved writing and displayed a great talent in the craft. Matt was the kind of guy anyone would want in their lives. He loved with an endless well of nonjudgmental compassion and would go the extra mile for any of his loved ones in need. While he experienced his own difficulties in life, he always placed those he loved front and center in his heart. While we are confident that he is experiencing pain-free eternal life now in heaven, we mourn his presence in our lives. In ancient Hebrew, Matthew means “Gift of God,” and Matt certainly lived up to his name in the lives he positively impacted. He will be greatly missed.
Wu-Tang forever.
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Cor 4:18 (NIV).
