Marjorie Hueber Kenney, age 93, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2022 surrounded by her daughters. Born in Syracuse, New York on March 23, 1929, to Marjorie Mangin Hueber and Joseph Louis Hueber, Marjorie graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University (Class of 1951, member of Theta Phi Alpha sorority) and moved to Washington, DC in 1955. Marjorie married Francis Joseph Kenney on April 27, 1957. They shared 60 happy years together until Francis passed in January 2018. Marjorie was predeceased by her daughter Patricia (Kenney) Vandermeeren, in 1998, and is survived by -
Children (in-laws) Jeanne (Kenney) McCourt, Michael Kenney, Eileen (Kenney) Foster, (Ken Foster), Stephen Kenney, (Susan Kenney) and (Jan Vandermeeren); Grandchildren (in-laws) Nicole (Vandermeeren) Jaeger, (Alan Jaeger), Kelly Vandermeeren, Frank McCourt, Jade McCourt, Rachael (Kenney) Retta, (Matt Retta), Michaela Kenney, Kyle Foster, Ryan Foster, Patrick Kenney and Luke Kenney; Great grandchildren Ronin Jaeger, Ford Jaeger and Sabrina Retta.
Marjorie was an active member at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. She volunteered at the school library and was a proud member of the Sodality. She enjoyed swimming many miles at the Aspen Hill Pool, playing bridge with friends and sewing with her various machines. Her main pastime was bowling, which she pursued until her mid-80’s, participating in multiple leagues over the years and winning various awards.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 3rd at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15663 Norbeck Blvd, Silver Spring, MD followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD.
