Marilyn Kaiser Obituary

Marilyn Jean Kaiser, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, age 78, and a resident of Rockville, Maryland passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Marilyn was born on January 14th,1946, in Melrose, Massachusetts to the late Leon C. Rowe and Rita K. Rowe (nee Foley). She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert E. Kaiser, her son Robert J. Kaiser (Karen), her daughter Jacqueline A. Clark (David) as well as her grandchildren Ryan Clark, Alyssa Clark, and Carson Kaiser.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Catherine Rowe (the late Edward), sister Barbara Card (Jeffrey), and her brothers Leonard Rowe (Lisa) and Lawrence Rowe (Paula).

Marilyn spent her childhood years in Malden, Massachusetts, and then relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where she spent her teenage years. She graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School in 1963. Following graduation, Marilyn began her working career in the mail department at Shell Oil Co., and was quickly promoted to the accounting department. She worked for Shell Oil until May of 1966, when Shell consolidated and closed their Cleveland office.  She then went on to work in the accounting department at Mosaic Tile.

While employed at Shell Oil, Marilyn met the love of her life, and future husband, Robert. They married on May 21, 1966, and went on to have two children. During this time, Marilyn stayed home and focused on raising a family.

In September 1975, they relocated to Erie, Pennsylvania where she briefly worked in administration for Bucyrus Erie.  They then relocated again in September 1981 to Rockville, Maryland. After settling in, Marilyn began working for The Tower Companies in their Property Management Department. She thoroughly enjoyed her job, the people she worked with and the lifelong friends she made there. Marilyn retired from Tower in 2008.

During her time working at Tower, and when she retired, Marilyn spent time caring for her grandchildren, and happily attended every activity, sporting event and award ceremony.

Marilyn was a down-to-earth, loving and caring, happy person who enjoyed life. Marilyn enjoyed arts and crafts, the outdoors, the beach, camping, group activities, playing cards, board games, slot machines, boating and fishing, and music, especially from her favorite artists, Elvis and Barbara Streisand.  But what she enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends. She cherished every moment spent with them.

The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, located at 4101 Norbeck Rd, Rockville, MD. The Christian Burial Mass will begin at 2:00 PM.
