Maria Natalia Zancan

Maria Natalia Zancan passed away peacefully early Monday morning, November 10, 2025, at the age of 95. She died at her home in Silver Spring tended by her family. 

Maria was born December 25, 1929 in Travesio, Prov. Pordenone, Italy to Luigi and Gemma Agosti.  At a young age she tragically lost her parents during World War II and was raised by aunts and uncles.  After completing elementary school, Maria went to sewing school for a number of years.  Her life was that of a simple, small-town girl.  That all changed when she met and married her husband, Mario, in Italy on July 16,1949.  She then came to this country as a bride in 1949.  Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was an excellent cook, loved to knit and hosted many gatherings of family and friends.  Spending time with people she loved and feeding them made her happy. 

Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Mario, of 58 years. She is survived by her two children, Laura and Louie (Mary); her grandson, Daniel; and her great grandchildren, Anthony, Quinn, Mae and Jackson. She will be deeply missed by her immediate and extended family and her many dear friends. 

Visitation will begin at 10:30am on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church - 15661 Norbeck Blvd, Silver Spring, MD 20906; where the Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30am.  The family will have a private burial at a later date.
