Lorna Camacho

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Lorna Camacho, who left this world on March 31, 2025, at the age of 68. A woman of warmth, compassion, and quiet strength, Lorna lived a life rich in love, generosity, and meaning.

She is survived by her loving mother, Lydia and her devoted sisters, Thelma and Helen (Carmen). She was a cherished aunt to her nieces Susan (Matthew), Elizabeth (Christopher), and Monica (Mamlook); her nephew Henry; and her grand-nieces and nephews: Philip, Emily, Annabel, Gabriel, Arabella, and Astur.

Lorna was also surrounded by extended family and a wide circle of devoted friends in the U.S. and the Philippines who were touched by her friendship and love. Among them, her heart family - Janice, Bert, Juliet, and David Halprin -held a special place in her heart and shared a deep, enduring bond with her.

She was known for her extraordinary generosity—always giving without hesitation, whether to a friend in need or to causes close to her heart. Her charitable spirit supported many organizations, and she was often the first to lend a hand, write a check, or offer a ride, never seeking recognition.

Lorna’s sense of humor kept spirits high among those around her. With a funny story or playful tease, she always found ways to make others smile.

Deeply committed to her faith and Filipino heritage, she was an active member of her church and community, freely offering her time and spirit.

Lorna leaves behind a family and community who will miss her dearly, but who are better for having known her. Her spirit lives on in the stories we share, the values she embodied, and the love she gave so freely.

We invite family and friends to celebrate Lorna’s life and honor her memory on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15663 Norbeck Blvd, Silver Spring, MD 20906; Viewing at 11 am and Mass at 12 pm. Interment will follow immediately at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD.
