Kyoko Wilson Obituary

On Friday November 25, Kyoko (Saito) Wilson, age 72, passed away unexpectedly at her eldest son’s home in Kensington, MD. She is survived by her husband, Andrew C. Wilson; her five children Anne Maika Wilson, Benjamin T. Wilson (daughter-in-law Sharen Wilson), Travis S. Wilson, Joseph K. Wilson (daughter-in-law Jennifer Wilson), and Arthur K. Wilson; nine grand children; as well as many extended family and friends in Japan and throughout the world. She was predeceased by her father Yoshiji Saito, mother Yoshiko Saito, sister Michiko Saito, and brother Hidetoshi Saito.


She was born, raised, and spent the first 30 years of her life in Tokyo, Japan surrounded and supported by her natal family. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother devoted to her family. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served alongside her husband in the U.S. State Department for 22 years. She loved cooking, bathing (ofuro), flower arranging (Ikebana) and Japanese traditional dance. A creative, beautiful, and gentle soul who always thought of others before herself.


A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Thursday, December 1st at 8:00 am (Visitation at 7:00 am) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Building at 10000 Stoneybrook Drive in Kensington, MD, next to the Washington D.C. temple.
