Judith “Judy” Walsh Quinn, of Rockville, Maryland passed peacefully on to Eternal Life May 3, 2025. Judy is survived by her children James (Mary), Norah (Blake), John, Nancy (John), Christopher and Sandra (daughter-in-law); ten grandchildren Meaghan (Ken), Christopher (Zohreh), Michael (Alanna), Norah (Brendan), Blake (Ana), Mary, Quinn, Sean, Abigael and Eliza; and six great grandchildren Olivia, Maddie, Maeve, Catherine, Charlie and Rose; and by countless extended family members and friendships of many decades. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, James “Jim” Quinn, and her brothers, John Burke, Michael and Christopher Walsh.
A native Washingtonian, Judy attended Sacred Heart School and the Catholic University of America where she studied speech and drama. A talented artist, she later studied art at Montgomery College. For over fifty years, Judy was very active at St Patrick’s Church where she taught CCD for many years. Judy had several hobbies including gardening, traveling and music.
Judy’s greatest treasure was her family as she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved being involved in and attending the athletic, academic, theatrical, scouting and musical endeavors of her children and grandchildren. She was a “second mother” to many children in her neighborhood and always left the door open to family and friends.
In her waning years she never lost her strong gift of faith or her remarkable sense of humor and quick wit. Her family is truly grateful for the nurses, caregivers, med techs and activity personnel at Sunrise of Rockville for their loving care of “Mama J”.
