Joseph Anthony Caffrey (Joe) of Monrovia, Maryland passed peacefully into eternal life after a prolonged illness at his home on November 26, 2024. He was born on August 8, 1958 in New York City to Noel and Millicent Walsh Caffrey.
Joe was self-employed as an electrician. He was known as a kind, hard-working and selfless man who was always ready to lend a helping hand. Joe enjoyed the outdoors; he liked vegetable gardening and fishing and spending time with his beloved family, who will deeply miss his presence.
He was predeceased by his wife Karen Seezox Caffrey, his father, Noel Caffrey and siblings Matthew, Thomas, Michael, Anne (his twin) and Robert Caffrey. He is survived by his children James (Sarah Keaton), Justine, Jacob, Olivia and Joseph Caffrey and grandchildren Keaton Caffrey and Ivy and Isla Vandamm-Smith. He is also survived by his mother, Millicent Caffrey and siblings Jane Applegate (William), John Caffrey, Mary Price, Patrick Caffrey (Frances), Francis Caffrey (Laura), Ruth Caffrey and Daniel Caffrey, numerous nieces and nephews and former wife Stephanie Caffrey.
Visitation will be held on December 12, 2024 at St Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Ijamsville, Maryland at 10 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Ijamsville.
