On June 11, 2024, our beloved father, Jose Anibal Naranjo, passed away peacefully at the age of ninety-three, surrounded by his loving family. He was a proud Army veteran of strong faith, enthusiastic sense of humor and a desire to make the most of every moment.
An artist at heart, he spent his 30-year career at the National Gallery of Art as a Senior Fine Art Photographer. His photographs documented and preserved countless works of art which toured the gallery over his years of civil service.
Upon retirement, he volunteered for 20+ years at Suburban Hospital and was an active member of St Jane de Chantal Parish, leading Saturday morning prayers and extraordinary eucharistic ministry.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marcia Naranjo; children Paul (Desiree) Naranjo, Elena (Bill) Ketelhut, Marcia (Paul) Jackson and Joseph Naranjo; grandchildren Thomas Ketelhut, William Ketelhut, Veronica Naranjo, and Dean Naranjo. As well as his sister Rosario Aguilera, extended family, and friends.
Family and friends will be received from 10am - 11am on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Bethesda, MD; where the Funeral Mass will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD.
If you would like to send flowers, please have them delivered to the church on Wednesday, June 19th by 9AM; or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, https://www.bccrs.org/donate/
