Johnny Lorenzo Guzman

Johnny Lorenzo Guzman, born March 28, 1942 (81), died on Thursday, April 13, 2023.  He was born in Cabagan, Isabella, Philippines, the son of the late Jose Garay and Feliza Lorenzo Guzman. Johnny graduated from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines, and immigrated to the United States.  He worked his entire career at the American College of Cardiology as an Accountant, and retired in 2003.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sylvia nee Mamauag; daughter, Theresa (Enzo) Leone of Crownsville, MD; son, Johnny (Steve) Guzman of Miami Beach, FL; three sisters Josefina Guzman of Los Angeles, CA, Carmen Domingo of Oak Park, IL, and Marietta Yee, of Irvine, CA; and his grandchildren, Enzo, Matthew, Nicholas, and Hannah Leone; as well as many nieces and nephews.  

Throughout his life, Johnny enjoyed exercising, reading, gardening, singing, dancing, watching football and basketball, spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren), and eating a wonderfully cooked meal from his wife.  A lifelong devout Catholic, Johnny and Sylvia’s marriage was forged in faith and most especially in recent years, they never missed praying the Rosary and attending virtual mass every day.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave S, Millersville, MD 21108.  The Mass will be live streamed on the day of the Mass (April 24, 2023) on their YouTube page at https://www.youtube.com/@ourladyofthefields/streams.  Interment will take place at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20906.
