John Adam Herchenroeder

John A. Herchenroeder passed away peacefully at home on January 22, 2022. He was 70 . John was the son of the late Buell "Herky" Herchenroeder and Jewel Herchenroeder, brother of Nancy L. Ehringer (Hap), Stephen L. Herchenroeder, Patricia H. Biondo (Al), W. Joseph Herchenroeder, Brian E. Herchenroeder (Cathy), and Nancy Tucker, his life partner.

John grew up in Takoma Park, MD. He attended Our Lady of Sorrows grade school and graduated from St. John’s College High School. He worked at Xerox for 35 years, retiring in 2015. John enjoyed the beach, especially Ocean City, MD, the Outer Banks, NC and Florida in the winter. And for more than 60 years, he enjoyed outdoor activities and kinship with friends and family at Mount Ephraim, a farm on the Rappahannock River in Virginia owned by a family of very dear friends.  John was a deeply spiritual person who understood this life was a temporary journey preparing him for the next. His family and life partner know he is at eternal peace in the loving arms of Jesus.  He touched the lives of many people during his life and will be greatly missed by his siblings and their spouses, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15663 Norbeck Boulevard, Silver Spring, Maryland on Saturday, February 5th, 2022, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Out of respect for everyone’s health during these times, this will be limited to family only.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John’s memory be made to a charity of your choice.
