John Peter Caffrey

John Peter Caffrey, of Sandy Spring, Maryland, beloved father, son, brother and uncle, passed peacefully into eternal life on May 6, 2025, after an extended convalescence.  He was born on June 16, 1960 in New York City to Noel and Millicent Caffrey.

John had a natural brilliance for computer science and worked as a Systems Engineer for AT&T to lovingly provide for his family. John enjoyed painting and drawing, he was an avid movie buff, and was known for his sense of humor. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Michael Council #10525. The last years of his life were marked by difficult health issues, which he bore with quiet dignity.

John is survived by his son, Thomas Caffrey and his daughter, Millicent Caffrey.  He also leaves behind his mother, Millicent Caffrey, and siblings Jane Applegate (William), Mary Price, Patrick Caffrey (Frances), Francis Caffrey (Laura), Ruth Caffrey and Daniel Caffrey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his father, Noel Caffrey, and siblings Matthew, Thomas, Michael, Joseph, Anne and Robert Caffrey.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for John at St. Peter Catholic Church in Olney, MD on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11 am with a Visitation at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Poplar Springs.
