Obituary

Hong Jiang, 63, of Rockville MD, passed away July 6th, 2023. She was born Oct. 22, 1959 in China. She graduated college in China then moved to Japan and attended Keio University. She graduated from Keio University  Medical School with PhD and MD degrees.

She married Wang Jie Ren in 1981. They lived together in Japan for 10 years then moved to the USA when Jiang secured a job offer with the NIH. She retired from her research career in 2013 to follow her true passion, tennis. She combined her love for children and tennis and became a tennis coach.

Hong was a very accomplished scientist. However, she was best known as a USTA tennis player and tennis coach. Her sunny smiles, caring, thoughtful, and resourceful personality left incredibly positive and uplifting marks in many of her friends and students.

Hong Jiang is survived by her husband Wang Jie Ren, daughter Amy Kuznetsov, son in law Anton Kuznetsov, grandson Landon Kuznetsov, and her favorite dog Ruby.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 14th at 10am at Norbeck Memorial Park.  Dress code is ALL WHITE (Wimbledon) and please feel free to wear tennis outfit as well.

A candlelight vigil will be held on a tennis court at a later date.
