Gino Marinucci, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and founder of Marinucci & Associates, CPA, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on February 22, 1939, in the beautiful hill town of Sulmona, in the Abruzzo region of Italy, Gino came to the United States at the age of 15 with a courageous spirit and an unwavering determination to build a life worthy of his dreams.
A proud Italian-American in every sense of the word, Gino carried the richness of his heritage with him always — in his values, his faith, and his fierce love of family. From the moment he arrived in America, he embraced his adopted country with the same deep pride he held for the land of his birth. He learned the English language, worked without rest, and pursued his education with singular focus — ultimately earning his CPA certification and fulfilling an ambition that few immigrants of his generation dared to imagine. In 1980, he founded Marinucci & Associates, CPA, a firm built on the bedrock of integrity, dedication, and genuine care for every client he served. He retired with great pride in 2019, leaving behind not only a thriving practice but a legacy of trust that will endure for generations.
A man of deep and abiding faith, Gino was a devoted member of his parish communities. He gave generously of his time and financial expertise to St. Andrew Apostle and to his beloved Holy Rosary Church in Washington, D.C. Sunday Mass was not merely an obligation — it was a cornerstone of his week and a reflection of the values he lived every day.
Outside of his work and faith, Gino found great joy in life’s simple and enduring pleasures. He was an avid bowler who loved the camaraderie of the lanes, a passionate gardener who tended his beloved fig trees with the same care and patience he brought to everything he touched, and a man who found peace and renewal in his church community. His garden was a particular source of pride — a living connection to the Italian countryside he never forgot.
Above all else, Gino was a family man. He was the patriarch, the counselor, and the beating heart of his family — the one everyone turned to for wisdom, steadiness, and love. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lina; his three children and their spouses, Linda and Stephen, Tony and Jennifer, and Piero and Tammy; his nine cherished grandchildren, Stephen Jr., Francesca, Michael, Anthony, Matthew, Stephanie, Sofia, Olivia, and Lidia; and his seven precious great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Lucas, Lina, Giuliana, Sofia, Graham, and Emma, who were among the greatest joys of his life.
Gino is also survived by three of his older siblings and spouses: Joseph and Rosaline, Vincenzo and Dora, and Filomena, who remain a cherished connection to the family and homeland he always carried in his heart.
Gino Marinucci lived as he worked — with purpose, with warmth, and with an eye always toward those he loved. His memory is a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Visitation will be from 6:30pm - 8pm on Thursday, May 7 and again from 10:30am - 11am on Friday, May 8 at St. Andrew Apostle Catholic Church in Silver Spring, Maryland; where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Friday, May 8. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland.
