Giampiero Cappuccio Rabazzi

Giampiero Cappuccio Rabazzi passed away on August 15, 2026, in Rockville, Maryland, at the age of 79.

Born on July 27, 1947, in Roccastrada, Tuscany, Italy, Giampiero lived a life marked by hard work, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to his family. At a young age, he immigrated to Venezuela with his father, Giuseppe Cappuccio, his mother, Irma Rabazzi, and his two sisters, Giuseppina and Gioi. There, he built a successful career as a skilled woodworker and business owner. Later in life, he settled in the United States, where he devoted his retirement years to his family, creating cherished memories with his children and grandchildren while honoring the traditions, values, and heritage that shaped his life.

Giampiero was the beloved husband of Rita Cappuccio, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, companionship, and partnership. He was a devoted father to Gian Gabriel and his wife, Ana Carolina, and a cherished and proud grandfather to their two daughters, Gia Gabriella and Mia Isabella. He was also a loving father to his daughter, Vanessa, and her husband, Matthew, and a proud and devoted grandfather to their three daughters, Alessia, Antonella, and Annalise.

Family was at the center of Giampiero's life. He took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and found his greatest joy in the time he spent with those he loved. His kindness, generosity, wisdom, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

Giampiero courageously battled pulmonary fibrosis with remarkable strength and grace. Through every challenge, he remained steadfast, optimistic, and loving, reflecting the resilience and determination that defined his character throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives were enriched by his presence. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will begin at 10am on Monday, August 24 at Mother Seton Parish (Germantown, MD); where the Funeral Mass will begin at 11am.  Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery (Germantown, MD).
