Frances Marie McIntyre

On Saturday, July 15, 2023, Frances Marie (Yates) McIntyre passed peacefully away surrounded by family at her home per her wishes. Frances was born on November 30,1927 to Francis and Frances Yates. She was predeceased by her husband Francis ‘Mickey’ McIntyre; her parents; her brothers Austin Yates, Dr. Richard Yates (Marie) and John Yates (Margie); her son Michael McIntyre and daughter Margaret Whisner who passed away in 2018; and by her great granddaughter Olivia Prudenti in 2003.

Fran is survived by her daughters Diane Cottone (Frank), Patricia Pelszynski (John), Regina McIntyre (Lane Shirey) and Mary Schulze (Larry); 17 grandchildren (special thanks to her eldest granddaughter Tina) and 20 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Mitzi Yates (soon to be 100); numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20, 10:30am at St Peter’s Catholic Church, 2900 Olney-Sandy Spring Road, Olney, MD 20832 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30am.  Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fran’s name to Gilchrist, Attn: Philanthropy Dept, 11311 McCormack Rd #350, Hunt Valley, MD 21031; or to Women’s Board MGH, PO Box 432, Olney, MD 20830 which is the Thrift Shop at Montgomery General Hospital, where Fran volunteered for more than 20 years.
