Eleanor Jane Fee died peacefully on October 9, 2023, in Berlin, Maryland. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Ann Fee, sister Anita (Ciamacco) Novak, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband of 67 years, Gerald Eugene Fee, her parents, Pasquale and Mary (DeOre) Ciamacco, brothers Arthur and Charles, and sisters Philomena Tarantino and Lillian Wilson.
Eleanor was born February 15, 1929 in tiny Dunbar, Pennsylvania. She was a first generation Italian American. Her father immigrated from Pacentro, Abruzzi, Italy in 1903. She left Dunbar for Washington, D.C. in 1953 with her husband. She worked as a bookkeeper at the former Security Bank until moving to Maryland in 1956. Eleanor and Gerald Fee were founding parishioners of St. Jude's in Rockville. She spent 20 years working at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, where she was a librarian and records custodian.
The couple retired to central Florida in 1983. They also enjoyed their northern Michigan home, where they spent more than 30 summers. Eleanor was very active in the Sons and Daughters of Italy organization, where she was president of the Orlando chapter and a Florida statewide officer.
Eleanor was loved by all for her joyful spirit, unfailing kindness, and ever-present smile. She will be greatly missed. She will be buried alongside her husband at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:30am on Wednesday, October 18 at The Shrine of St. Jude Catholic Church - 12701 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853; where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12noon. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD.
