Donald John DiJulio (Don), 91, of Rockville, MD passed away on November 21, 2025 at home with his wife, Marian, by his side.
Don was born to James and Della DiJulio in Chicago, IL on August 6, 1934. He attended Fenwick Catholic High School and graduated with a BA degree from DePaul University.
He married the love of his life, Marian DiBuono, in October of 1961. They lived in Chicago and then Elmhurst, IL where they purchased their first home on Larch Street. For most of his career, Don worked for the US Government. In 1971, he moved his family from Chicago to the Washington DC area to accept a new role with the Office of Personnel Management. He finished his career with the Office of Special Counsel, where he oversaw casework and special investigations. He retired in 1993 and traveled the world with his wife.
Throughout his life, Don was a devout Catholic and active member in the church, always finding occasion to attend Mass wherever he was. He was a member of several faith communities and an Extended Member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS).
In addition to his faith, Don was a passionate foodie - especially for Italian food. He was an avid cook, a skill he learned later in life from his mother.
Don is survived by his wife, Marian; two children - Mark (Maggie Tobin) and Catherine (Joe Durham); and four beloved grandchildren - Connor Durham, Paige Durham (Connolly), Jordan DiJulio, and Olivia DiJulio. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary, and twin brother, John.
He will be missed by his family and friends and especially for the humorous stories he often shared!
