DOLORES MARY McGuire NOLAN (Age 95) "Chickie" Died peacefully on June 23, 2021, at her home in Washington, D.C., surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 6900 River Rd, Bethesda, MD 20817 on June 29, 2021. The wake will begin at 10:30 am with a Mass at 11:30 am. She will be laid to rest at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery following the memorial service.
Dolores was born in Menominee, MI to Joe and Mae McGuire on December 12, 1925. She met her husband James William Nolan in Milwaukee, WI, and they married on May 28,1949 in Menominee, MI. Dolores and Jim lived in Hales Corners, WI and Stamford, CT prior to moving to Bethesda, MD in 1968. In Bethesda, she began a new career as media specialist at Chevy Chase Elementary School where she worked for 20 years. Dolores was a long-time member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She was an accomplished artist, a longtime member of the garden club, she loved to dance and had a love for music. Most importantly, she loved to be surrounded by her family.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mae McGuire; her siblings, Lenora McGuire and Joe McGuire; her husband of 58 years, James William Nolan; and great grandson Gabriel Haucke. She is survived by her sister, Lorraine Krause; her four children and their spouses, Richard James (Lucy), Michael Edward (Joanne), Mary Patricia (John), and Colleen Nolan (Bob); her 12 grandchildren, Kelly Aller (Ruben Anchondo), Michael P. Nolan, Kathleen Nolan McCormick (ChadMcCormick), Ryan Nolan, Erin Haucke (Christian Haucke), Christine Nolan, Kateland Aller (Tyler Potretzke), Meghan Kingsley, Bo Aller, Nolan Kingsley, Colleen Nolan, and Brian Aller (Sabrina); and her 11 great-children, Maeve Anchondo, Hugo Anchondo, Connor McCormick, Edie Anchondo, Miles Haucke, Luke McCormick, Keighley McCormick, Max Haucke, Russell Potretzke, Otto Aller and Emmett Aller.
