Constantina (Tina) Poulakis was born August 8,1995 and passed the morning of Sunday, May 26, 2024- 18 months after a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Tina encountered her diagnosis, illness, treatment, and eventual passing with optimism, strength, and bravery that continues to inspire those who knew her. She accepted the possibility of her death without ever leaving behind the hope that her doctors could find a new and successful treatment; that she could recover and return to the life she loved.
Tina loved animals and demonstrated that love by working as a vet tech and through her affection for her family dogs and other pets. She often said she loved animals more than humans. She loved travel, cruises with her friends to places like Curacao and Barbados, and all Baltimore sports teams. She was at her best when spending time with her nephews, including her godson, Basil, both of whom she loved without reservation.
Tina was uncomplicated in that she was entirely herself without any effort to deceive. She was good in a way that only people like her can be: true, earnest. Those she loved are left with no question about how she felt or what they meant to her, or of who she was. She will be remembered by family and friends for her beautiful smile and truly pure heart, a very rare and precious thing to possess and to know.
Tina leaves behind her parents, Vasili and Effie Poulakis, her sister Maria (Peter), her nephews Basil and Constantine, and many more loved ones and friends.
