Claire Ann (Droney) Serabian

Claire Ann Serabian (nee Droney) of Chevy Chase, MD, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late George J. Serabian, and the cherished mother of the late George Patrick Serabian, Stephen Randolph Serabian. Leslie Ann Hand and Lisa Ann Hancock.  She is survived by her son, Robert Francis Serabian, three grandchildren, Erin Hand Lakin, Sean Hand and Ronda Fitzpatrick and five great-grandchildren.

She was born in December 1930 in Baltimore MD and was adopted by Vietta Marie Droney of Washington, DC.  She attended Holy Cross Academy and Marjorie Webster Junior College. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park Campus with a Masters in Education.  She began her teaching career at the Barrie School, and went on to be a much loved elementary school teacher in Montgomery County, MD.  Upon her retirement, she took great pleasure in spending time in the company of her many friends and devoted family.

Visitation will be 10:00 am until 10:30 am on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 9705 Summit Avenue, Kensington, MD 20895, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am.  Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland.  A celebration of Claire Ann’s life will be at a later date.
