In Loving Memory ~
Chin W. Kim, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on December 16, 2025, leaving behind a void that only God can fill.
Born on May 23, 1938, in South Korea, Chin pursued a lifelong journey of academic excellence and curiosity. He proudly served as a decorated Member of the South Korean Air Force and continued his spirit of service through a successful 30-year career.
A devoted reader of the Bible, Chin found great joy and purpose in faith and reflection. He spent many hours documenting his memories of childhood, leaving behind a heartfelt legacy for his family. Grateful for every moment of life, he treasured time spent with loved ones—especially recalling his 80th birthday trip to Hawaii, where he experienced many joyful “firsts” filled with laughter and great memories, shared with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Chin is survived by his loving wife, Hye Sun; son, Johann; daughter, Susie; grandchildren, James Jr (wife Natasha), Jasmine, Alex, Zoey, and Hailey; great-grandchild, Addison; and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral and Burial Services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Norbeck Memorial Park, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD 20832.
