Blanca M. Mantilla, 86, wife of Gabriel Mantilla of sixty-two years, passed from this life to eternal life on Saturday, December 5, 2020. She is survived by her two children, Gabriel and Deborah Alicia, and four grandchildren, Brennan, Christopher, Stephanie and Alyssa.
Blanca's talents are too many to list. She arrived from the Domincan Republic as a Diplomat in 1956. She worked for the Inter-American Development Bank as an Assistant Librarian in the Acquisition of Economic and Finance Materials, Books, Periodicals, and all information related to the Library. After retirement she became a successful realtor until her mid-70’s. Most importantly, she was a passionate and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her family throughout the United States, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.
Blanca will always be remembered as a loving and giving human being that always put the happiness and needs of others before hers, especially that of her family. She was also very passionate and dedicated to her Roman Catholic faith and served as an inspiration to those she met throughout her life, both personally and professionally.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15663 Norbeck Blvd, Silver Spring, MD 20906 where Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Covid protocol will be followed, with face masks and social distancing required. Please only come out as your own comfort level allows.
