Arsenio Menor Garcia was born in San Carlos, Philippines on July 21, 1947 to Jose and Fructuosa Garcia. Arsenio passed away on Thursday March 4, 2021 at Holy Cross Hospital.
Arsenio was the eldest of seven children. His younger siblings, Carmelo, Alice, Nora, Thelma, and Patria currently reside in the Philippines; while Cesar currently resides in Maryland.
In the early '80s, Arsenio immigrated to the United States for a better life and worked for the Philippine Embassy in DC. His two young sons, Christian and Allan, followed shortly after. In the midst of being a single father, he was able to find love again through a pen pal. Though he had many pen pals, only one would catch his attention for the rest of his life – Cynthia.
In 1987, he began working for the Afghanistan Embassy all while working evenings at Marriott. In 1991, Arsenio and Cynthia were blessed with a daughter, Kristine. In their 30+ years of togetherness they raised their family within Montgomery County, MD.
Though enduring many trials and tribulations he remained a loving and selfless man for his family. With his genuine presence, he attracted many friends and created memories to cherish throughout his lifetime. We cannot ignore the pain his absence leaves, but can fill the void with memories and love to all those he came across during his walk of life.
Arsenio is survived by his wife, Cynthia Caguiat Garcia; children Christian (Jaycee) Garcia, Allan (Jonalyn) Garcia, and Kristine and Christopher Yuen; grandchildren Christian Jonathan, Jeremiah, Jacquelyn, Jaylan, Jayden, Jaycob, and Jaysen; and siblings Carmelo, Alice, Nora, Thelma, Cesar, and Patria.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 am on Friday, March 12, 2021 at St. Andrew Apostle Catholic Church, 11600 Kemp Mill Road, Silver Spring, Maryland 20902; where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30am.
