Ana Maria Patterson

Ana Maria Valero Patterson was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away May 25th, 2021 at the age of 71. She was a beautiful soul who loved her family deeply. She was a friend to many and loved by all. Her warm smile, soft demeanor, and generous nature was infectious and was the reason she was admired and loved by so many.

She was born to Juan and Emeteria Valero on November 11, 1949 and is 3rd in the line of 4 children which includes Linda Pond, Albert Valero and Joe Valero.  After graduating from High School, Ana went on to receive her Bachelors Degree in Nursing and practiced her profession for many years rising to Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department at R.E. Thomason General Hospital which is where she met her husband Dr. Harlan (Steve) Patterson. She retired from nursing to focus on raising her 3 children: Brian Baker (Tonya), Sarah "Sally" Patterson (Charles McFeaters), Emmelyn Patterson-Gracia (John Gracia) and later doting on her grandchildren Sydney Baker and Taran McFeaters-Patterson . She spent many years volunteering with the Red Cross locally which brought her much joy. She was also active at Oakdale, was an avid student of the scriptures and loved her bible study group. She lived a life of kindness. She loved deeply. She had a quiet strength and infectious smile that carried her family in time of hardship and joy. She is deeply missed and her absence can never be replaced. However we celebrate her life because she positively impacted so many lives. The fondness that she inspires in the mention of her name is a testament to her spirit.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 4th, 2021 from 10:00 until 11:00am at Oakdale Church, 3425 Emory Church Road, Olney, MD 20832 with funeral services at 11:00 am.
