Alice Mary (Cole) Judson

Alice Mary Judson (nee Cole) of Wilmington, North Carolina departed from this life on June 3, 2021. She was born February 16, 1923 in Archbald, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by parents Alice G. Siddons Cole and Robert J. Cole, and siblings Frank Cole, Annette Helman, Robert Cole, and Eleanor Cole. She is survived by her husband Richard Walker Judson; sons Richard Judson (Judy) of Wilmington, NC, Robert Judson of Rockville, MD, and Gary Judson (Linda) of Catonsville, MD; grandchildren Cara Lowry (Joe) of Bel Air, MD, Ryan Judson and Kyle Judson of Easton, MD, Alyssa Judson and Olivia Judson of Catonsville, MD, and James Judson of Parkersburg, WV; great-grandchildren Carolynn and Caitlynn Lowry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alice, known as “Sue” by all who loved her, worked as a secretary at the AFL in Washington, DC and met Richard at a church dance. They were married in 1951. While they raised three sons, she worked at Mark Daniels, a clothing store in Rockville, MD.  Alice and Richard enjoyed ElderHostel and Shillelagh trips to various destinations around the United States, as well as ballroom dancing. She was an active member of St. Jude Church in Rockville, Maryland. Alice and Richard recently moved to Wilmington, NC after living in the Rockville/Silver Spring area for 60 years, and enjoyed living near their son Richard and his wife Judy. 

Alice believed that family was the most important thing in the world, and enjoyed large family gatherings for holidays and weddings. She was generous with her time and devoted to God, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be at 10:30 am and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on July 10, 2021 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church,15661 Norbeck Boulevard, Silver Spring, MD. Interment private.
