Suzanne Daily Oakes

Suzanne Daily Oakes, originally of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, recently residing in Silver Spring, Maryland passed away peacefully in her home in the company of loved ones on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Beloved wife of Dwight C. Oakes. Loving mother of Marnie Kenefick (Patrick), Amanda Fangmeyer (James) and Jeanne Badgett (Tom). Devoted Grammy of Liam and Iris Kenefick; James, Audrey, Xavier, Leo, Jude, Ruth, Joseph, Magdalen and Kolbe Fangmeyer; Elizabeth "Beppy," Eleanor and Lois Badgett. Loyal sister of Mary Jane Daily S.S.J., James Daily, Kathleen Ferris (Rob), Michael Daily, Jerome Daily, Jeane Bryson and Adrianne “Bobby” Daily.  Suzy was preceded in death by her dear siblings Eleanor “Lynne” Atkinson and Mark Daily.  In addition, Suzy leaves behind a large extended family, including her special Aunt Virginia “Dugie” Caldwell, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and life-long friends whom she loved dearly.

The fifth of ten children, Suzy was thoughtful, clever and endlessly patient.  She was an excellent mother, devoted sister and steadfast friend.  She and her husband were avid vacationers and often hosted fun family gatherings. She was quick to laugh, enjoyed playing games, and loved the sunshine and chocolate. Suzy had a passion for horses, whether riding them on visits to Colorado or betting on them.  She delighted in taking care of and having fun with her 14 grandchildren.

Visitation will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 4101 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 11:00 am, followed by Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Private Interment to be at a later date.
