Rosemarie was born on May 25th 1936 in Asbury Park New Jersey to the late Sophie Dorothy Kennedy of Jersey City and Hugh Blake Kennedy of Scotland. She is survived by her sister Patricia Ann McKnight and husband Bobby McKnight; her loving husband of 58 years, S. White Rhyne Jr.; her three children: Patricia Rhyne-Kirsch and husband Peter A. Kirsch, Kendall Sidney Rhyne and Randall Sylvanus Rhyne; Grandchildren: Kyle Anthony Kirsch, Mitchell Rhyne Kirsch, Taylor Kennedy Rhyne, Kendall Sidney Rhyne Jr. and Sydney Therese Kirsch.

Rosemarie started her career as a Dental Assistant in the late 50’s into the early 60’s in Washington DC for Dr. Irving Rothstein. She then took a little time off to adopt and raise her three children.

From 1970-1980 Rosemarie and White were foster parents for Lutheran Social Services the same agency in which her children were adopted. They fostered 25 pre adoptive children.

In the late 1970’s she obtained her Social Work Degree from the University of Maryland and then became the Director of Counseling Ministries for 11 years for Saint Luke Lutheran Church.  Rosemarie used her skills creatively and her energies sacrificially to address with care the needs of as many would come. She had the patience of a saint.

Rosemarie often volunteered for the Shepherd’s Table/Soup Kitchen, providing clothing and serving food, for the less fortunate. She also served on the board of the National Lutheran Home for many years.
